Events of 2005 (in reverse chronological order):

  • Christmas carols at Kew.
    We played seasonal music in the Orangery at Kew Gardens during the mornings of  26th November, 3rd, 10th and 18th December.

  • Church based Christmas events:

    • 18th Dec, Celebration of Christmas at St Lawrence, Chobham.

    • 17th Dec, Carols for all at High Cross church, Camberley.

    • 11th Dec, Carol Service at Our Lady and St. Dominic, Farnborough.

    Plus our usual round of performances for residential homes and community events in the area.

  • 17th December, in concert with Len Rawle and the Woking Wurlitzer.

  • 26th November, afternoon wedding bells at All Saints, Fleet.

  • 24th November, carols at Longacre garden centre, Bagshot.

  • 19th November, SE Region handbell festival service, Guildford Cathedral.

  • 8th October: SE Region rally at Brockenhurst, Hampshire, hosted by Sway Handbell Ringers

  • Chobham Festival

    • Handbell workshop on 25th Sept.

    • Festival Songs of Praise, St Lawrence Church, Chobham 25th Sept,
                 - preceded by a handbell recital

  • 25th June: Joint concert with All Saints' ringers, Warlingham Church Hall  (located on the green in Warlingham, Surrey) .
     

  • 4th June: Joint concert with Senlac Bells, St Oswald's Church, Hooe, East Sussex.

  • 21st May: Woodbank retirement home, Woking. Evening entertainment.

  • 13th April: Eight of the team appeared live on ITV's Paul O'Grady show, ringing "If I were a rich man", then teaching Paul how to ring. Click for picture

  • 1st-3rd April: Handbell Ringers of Great Britain "Ring at the Royal Northern College of Music", Manchester. This year's National Rally celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first Grand Handbell Ringing Extravaganza in 1855 at Belle Vue Zoological Gardens. Teams from all over Britain presented their own party pieces, learned together in practical workshops, and experienced a wonderful gala concert on Saturday evening with stunning performances demonstrating many different styles of ringing. Chobham brought the rally to a close on Sunday with stirring performances of "Finlandia", "Summertime", "A Mighty Fortress", and "The Lord's Prayer".

  • 15th March: Talk about handbell ringing to the Chobham Old Folks Club, by Steve Edwards.

  • 5th March: Handbell Ringers of Great Britain, SE Region AGM and rally at Grayshott, Hants.

  • 22nd February: Concert for "Churches Together" at Cove Methodist Church, Farnborough.

  • 8th January: We joined over 200 other ringers from the SE Region of Handbell Ringers of Great Britain in Tolworth, to celebrate the region's 30th birthday.
